If you used some sort of packages manager, just revert to the versions 
provided by Ubuntu.
If you did follow the wiki instructions and did make backups of the 
existing files you overwrote, then just revert to the backups.
If you didn't do either of that, then you can probably re-install the 
kernel and via xorg driver packages that comes with Ubuntu.
