Of course, as the VT1631 is an LVDS encoder, not a TMDS encoder.

Depends.

Not really.

Initial support for it is provided in xf86-video-unichrome. VT1632 
(one of many sii-164 clones) will be implemented properly somewhere this 
week now that multiple head support for xf86-video-unichrome is taking 
shape. 

Also, VT1631 will be directly supported in the coming weeks.
