[Openchrome-users] Kernel drm drivers state?

Just upgraded my Gentoo system on an SP13000 from 2.6.16 to 2.6.18 and I
expected that the kernel drm modules would be reasonably up-to-date. Fine
chance, they are at version 1.0 (which gives me the error "drmSetBusid
failed (8, PCI:1:0:0), Permission denied").

At some point, when I first put the 2.6.16 kernel together, I ended up
with version 1.2 but can't remember how!!

I don't seem to have the drm sources lurking on my system so can someone
remind me what I did ??
